OCTUBRE | 1983 Hallberg-Rassy 42E Center Cockpit Masthead Ketch

Kingston, ON, CA

About

Please note that this vessel will be sold as is and where she lays. The vessel has been fairly priced given her overall condition.

In August 2025, the owners had an experienced and knowledgeable surveyor on board to perform an extensive C&V Survey on her. The following is an excerpt from the report and is the surveyor's summary comments about OCTUBRE. The survey is available and can be sent to truly interested parties.

OCTUBRE is a blue water cruiser from the highly respected yard of Hallberg-Rassy. She is robustly constructed to high standards and is designed and built for offshore work. This vessel was found to be in generally sound structural condition with the possible exception of some work required on her rudder to address moisture ingress and possible resulting damage. Otherwise, little structural delamination was observed and her laminates remain dry throughout. Deck condition could not be fully established due to the teak overlay, but was firm and sounds where accessible from the underside. The teak decking was serviceable, recently caulked and with sufficient remaining thickness for refinishing if desired. The teak surfaces at the cockpit seats have been removed. Her exterior cosmetic condition is considered fair: a thorough cleaning of her decks and refinishing of her brightwork would substantially improve her appearance. The interior is finely finished but does exhibit significant staining in several extended areas that will require refinishing of these areas. The underlying joinerwork is however of a quality that would merit this expense. Similarly, she needs new cushions and upholstery throughout, but would stand out with this accomplished. Electrical systems have been recently upgraded to a high standard with little work required except as may be desired for particular requirements. Similarly, she boasts recent electronics and a new bow thruster. Her engine and mechanical systems are largely original and would benefit from a general cleaning and replacement of hoses and other expendable components; given the age, a mechanical survey would also be advisable for certainly although no outward items of particular concern were identified. Tankage appears serviceable where accessible for inspection. Her spars and standing rigging are robustly constructed to high standards; inspection of her lower rigging terminals by an experienced rigger is however recommended due to observed corrosion and age. Her level of equipment is considered average relative to others currently for sale. This vessel is considered sound, robust, and well-equipped but in need of some cosmetic work and maintenance to restore her to her potential.

Overall, the vessel is considered to be in FAIR CONDITION.

Testimonials

George Ayers was terrific to work with over the past few months as I evaluated, negotiated and purchased a CS 30 that Harris & Ellis Yachts had listed in Sarnia. He was patient, thorough and totally professional. I have owned nine sailboats in my 50+ years as a sailor. My experience with George and Harris & Ellis Yachts has been my best boat buying experience to date.

George did an amazing job of selling our CS 30 sailboat. A caring and compassionate person, he went above and beyond our expectations and never stopped working on our behalf to get the job done. We are forever grateful for his dedication to his work. Please let him know how much we think of him!

I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for the outstanding service provided by Greg. Last October, my husband suddenly passed away due to a heart attack, leaving behind two boats. Greg was instrumental in helping me sell the first boat quickly and at a very good price. As for the second boat, due to my husband's declining health in his final year, the boat had been sitting idle at the dock near our home for over a year. Greg demonstrated the utmost professionalism in cleaning, maintaining, and preparing the boat for sale. He put in a tremendous amount of work, understanding the niche market for this boat, and always kept me informed of his progress without burdening me with the stress of the process. Last week, Greg successfully sold the second boat, and I am very satisfied with the price achieved. His professionalism and confidence in his work gave me a much-needed sense of security during such a difficult time.

Thank you for all your work in facilitating the sale of our dad's boat. Jake and I really appreciate all the hard work you put into it with the many visits, paperwork, etc. A special mention has to go out to Grant for teaching me how to fold the sails!

As first-time boat buyers and as foreigners wanting to buy a cruising catamaran in the US, we knew we needed a reliable broker that had our best interests in mind. John Heintzman was just that, and more! He was extremely committed to understanding what we were looking for, gave great advice, and guided us through the purchase process with great patience and knowledge. All in all, we felt very well taken care of.

I feel compelled to reach out about the absolutely wonderful experience that I have had with Grant and Patricia Bowlby. I completed the purchase of a boat yesterday and I couldn’t be happier. They were so helpful, kind, and patient. This was my first experience with a broker, and I think I’ve found the best.

I can’t thank Ewan Campbell enough for the super job he did in selling G, making up for my lack of experience in this realm and patiently searching for just the right buyer and a win-win for seller and buyer alike.

It was a wonderful experience selling A with Jeff Cole’s expert assistance. Thank you for simplifying a complicated process. Your patience and kindness are especially appreciated.

I just wanted to thank Jeff Cole for all his hard work. He was very professional and effective.

This Regal 3350 Sport Cruiser is absolutely loaded with heat and air, genset, windlass, cockpit grill and large engines. If you compare with other pre-owned 3350's on the market, there is a big difference in the details with this one - starting with the available power. The base power was the 260 hp 5.7Ls with single prop drives, up to the largest package, the 375 Hp 8.1L's with Duo Prop drives- a $12K upgrade. With the twin 8.1Ls the 3350 is fast, nimble and a blast to drive.

Designed by Robert Perry, the Saga 35 is a serious long-range, blue water cruiser for the discerning sailor. Offering a muscular sail plan with a performance hull and appendage package, she is nonetheless robustly built with numerous thoughtful features, quality equipment, spacious living and gracious style. She is a highly desirable liveaboard vessel which is meant to go places and get there quickly, comfortably and safely. The current owner has updated her wisely - new epoxy bottom, new main and jib sails, new solar panels and more. She is clean, tidy and will be sure to impress.

Whisper II is a first generation C&C MkI. Built between 1974-1977, the 33 MkI became a popular choice for those looking for a cruiser for a small family, and could still perform in racing. Whisper II has seen many upgrades over the past few years. She is well equipped for those looking to cruise and spend time on the hook, and with her arsenal of sails can still be competitive as a club racer.
