About
The Niagara 35, designed by Mark Ellis, enjoyed a production run that spanned three decades from 1978 to 1995. The boat has earned an enviable reputation as a superb, live-aboard cruiser with numerous long voyages to the design's credit. Nearly 300 Niagara 35 were built by George Hinterhoeller (the one time president of C&C, and builder of the Nonsuch boats) in Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON. Though not of a conventional design layout, the Niagara 35 Mk1 was designed to be a very capable cruising vessel. Hinterhoeller's attention to detail and solid, quality construction were well above average and Hinterhoeller-built boats have always enjoyed strong resale values.
GREY CLOUD is a cruising boat that has been very well maintained and has had numerous upgrades. She is well set up for single or shorthanded sailing. Wide side decks, a stout rig, secure cockpit, serious anchoring and docking hardware and a host of other well thought out details contribute to the appeal of this Niagara 35.
Down below, Hinterhoeller's trademark teak joinery creates a warm, inviting interior along with her newer upholstery. Four large opening hatches, 6 opening portlights plus Dorade vents give good ventilation. She has excellent storage. GREY CLOUD has a number of amenities for comfortable long distance cruising.
With her classic profile accented by her dodger, bimini and mainsail cover, GREY CLOUD is a most attractive boat.
