About
The C&C Landfall 48 Pilothouse is a classic sailing yacht. 24 boats were built at C&C's custom boat yard in Middletown, Rhode Island between 1980-82. This particular vessel was commissioned in 1982 with advancements in rigging and interior layout. The Rob Ball design is recognized by Cruising Worldas one of the top 40 sailboats of all time. She is the perfect balance of blue-water ruggedness and live-aboard comfort.
The current owner aquired the boat in 2013 and retained Buzzards Bay Yacht Services in Mattapoisett, MA to restore the vessel, including engine, electrical, mechanical and fibreglass (including a new rudder and a new genset). She was sailed to her new home in Toronto, where she is currently berthed. Mara has benefited from the regular attention of a professional captain.
The boat is turnkey. All systems are operational and well maintained. In 2020 the mast was taken down, painted and the rigging checked. A new teak table was installed in the cockpit and the binnacle compass was rebuilt. The primary electric winches were checked and the starboard winch motor was rebuilt. Halyards and lines were replaced. The interior teak and holly sole and companionway were refinished.
Whether you are looking for a blue-water cruiser capable of taking you around the world (many of the 48s are found at the far reaches of the globe), a cruiser on the Great Lakes, or a comfortable cottage, Mara is ideal.
