Top 10 Reasons to Get Into Boating

With so many opportunities for boating fun available today, there’s no reason why anyone can’t take advantage of the benefits that recreational boating has to offer. Check out our list of the top 10 reasons to get into boating.

Boating Green

With rising gas prices and the environment top of mind for today's consumer, boaters are using their boats in different ways than in years past.

Boaters are considering ways to reduce fuel consumption while on the water, including reducing cruising speed, tuning the engine and taking shorter trips.

Unlike driving a car, a boat's engine is often idle or turned off while anchoring, floating or at the dock (all three of which are some of boaters' favourite on-the-water activities).

Toronto International Boat Show Update

Harris & Ellis Yachts welcomed friends and clients, old and new, at the January Boat Show in Toronto.  Although the temperatures plunged outside, the show once again provided a dreamer’s escape from winter and an opportunity for new and experienced boaters to re-kindle on-the-water passions.  With a great year behind us and exciting developments on the near horizon we thoroughly enjoyed seeing everyone.

Harris & Ellis Yachts showcased our great listings of Power and Sail vessels within a multi-media format.  Our teak framed listing boards were complimented by large plasma screen displays providing real images of the specific boats in their environment.  In addition, the complete specifications and inventories of over 100 listings were available for the detail oriented amongst us.

Most importantly we provided a display of the ‘Sold’ product for the 2009 sales year.  An impressive list of 26 power boats and 35 sailboats caught the attention of not only our current, past and future clients, but the competition as well.  After all, a client comes to us for one of two reasons, to buy, or to sell.

With sales staff located in Eastern, Western and Central Ontario, Harris and Ellis is uniquely qualified to provide valuable local knowledge along with professional sales assistance.

Thank you to all who took the time and interest to stop by and chat. Special thanks to Northshore Boatworks of Bronte for the beautifully built display booth.

Spring is coming,

Dave Harris, George Ayers, Grant and Patricia Bowlby
